Three Nigerians have been nominated for the Forbes Person of the Year 2014 Awards. They include; Africa’s richest billionaire Aliko Dangote, world-renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and the director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission in Nigeria Arunma Oteh.
Others include; South African advocate and the nation’s Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and Rwandan economist and the president of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka.
The awards will take place on Dec. 4th. Voting is already ongoing.
The Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Tagelsir Ali is dead. He died in the early hours of today Oct 24 in Abuja. He is aged 66. The Media Advisor to the Nigerian embassy Mr Mohammed Abdulrahman who confirmed this to News Agency of Nigeria said Dr Tagelsir had complications resulting from Malaria.
“He had malaria; there were some complications and he passed away around 1 a.m. early this morning. There is a Presidential jet coming by 5 p.m. to take the remains to Sudan for burial.He was 66 years old. He loved working in Nigeria and had zeal to develop the bilateral relationship between Sudan and Nigeria and was able to stretch himself very well,” Mohammed said.
Late Tagelsir was posted to Nigeria in February, 2012.
Former Beauty queen Regina Askia who is currently working as a nurse in America has volunteered to work in the Ebola centre that has moved to her building. She said that so far she is the only female nurse among her female colleagues who has volunteered. She is also receiving trainings on how to handle victims. Governor Ayo Fayose today Oct 24, swore in Barrister Bamidele Omotosho as the new High Court Judge of Ekiti State. While speaking at the ceremony, Fayose warned the judges should leave politics to politicians. He also admonished the people to desist from fighting him because .fighting him is like fighting God. '

Nigeria has pledged to send about 600 volunteers to help fight the Ebola scourge in worst hit African countries. Acting health minister Khaliru Alhassan told Reuters yesterday Oct. 23, that the first 250 batch will be deployed soon but he did not specify any date.
"Nigeria has 600 health workers who have been trained in the field of Ebola containment who are ready to go to other affected African countries to help them in containment of Ebola spread. The first contingent of 250 Nigeria experts will be deployed soon," he said.

He said Obama is a total and complete disaster and a far worse president than Jimmy Carter.

The NYC doctor who tested to Ebola has been identified as Dr. Craig Spencer, 33. He has been treating Ebola patients in Guinea. Reuters reports that Spencer first developed Ebola symptoms on Thursday morning. He is currently under isolation at Bellevue Hospital. On Tuesday Oct 23, the new governor of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose accused his predecessor Kayode Fayemi of spending a whooping N3.3billion to live a life of luxury in the Ekiti state govt house. He alleges that Fayemi expended about N50million for bed for himself and his wife, adding that about N100million was lavished on the bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets in the State Govt. House.

First Lady and wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience Jonathan have resigned her appointment as the Permanent Secretary in Bayelsa State Civil Service. Albeit it is said that she left office voluntarily, sources claim that her sudden exit is not unconnected to her frosty relationship with Bayesla state governor Seriake Dickson.
Dame Patience Jonathan was one of the appointed 17 permanent secretaries in the state civil service in July 2012.

A police corporal, Joseph Ebosele, has been confirmed dead at a Lagos hospital after he was hit with an iron rod by a motorcyclist, Bakare Lukman, in the Meiran area of Lagos State. On Oct. 11, a police patrol team seized a bike belonging to one Lukman after he was seen using the bike around 11:00pm. Lukeman reportedly escaped from the police and waylaid Ebosele where he hit him with the iron rod. He tells Punch:
A car loaded with explosive devices went off in Azare motor park last night Oct 22 at about 9:45pm, killing five persons and injuring several others. The Police Public Relations Officer in Bauchi, Haruna Muhammad who confirmed the report told Premium Times:
“Five persons burnt beyond recognition were certified dead, while 12 others sustained various degree of injuries, and are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Azare. the scene of the incident was cordoned off by a police explosives ordinance disposal unit.No arrest was made but investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause of the blast,” he said.
Former Nollywood actor and Honourable representing the Ife Federal Constituency in the lower House of the National Assembly Mr. Rotimi Makinde has accused Nollyywood actors of not giving him support when he went into politics. I don’t know how true this is but a Mr. Oladiran Fadipe is accusing Ekiti state governor Ayo Fayose of acquiring a multi million naira property (pictured above) in London just eight days after his inauguration. Just yesterday one Prince Adepoju Jacobs accused Fayose of building a mansion in Banana Island.

Femi Kuti was the first to share similar pics few days ago. His ex-wife Funke Kuti also shared their cozy pics minutes ago on twitter. I don’t know how they’re able to maintain this good relationship. I wish their marriage worked.
Canadian Parliament was today placed under lockdown after an unknown gunman was reported to have shot dead a soldier at the National War Memorial before multiple gunmen fired dozens of shots inside the halls of Parliament in Ottawa. But police said there are 'two or three' gunmen inside the building and one of the gunmen has been killed reported Ottawa Citizen.
